Functional profile & handling
Hydrocolloid, Not Acidulant
Xanthan gum (E415) functions differently from the acidulants, preservatives and buffering salts elsewhere in the BRENNER F-Series. As a hydrocolloid, it modifies texture and consistency — thickening and stabilising a formulation — rather than adjusting acidity or extending shelf life.
Dispersible in Water
Under the EU specification for E415 (Regulation (EU) No 231/2012, as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) 2026/196, applicable from 18 August 2026), xanthan gum is defined as dispersible in water, forming a colloidal dispersion. BRENNER does not prescribe a universal dosage or process — required conditions depend on the customer's own formulation, equipment and target consistency.
